For Immediate Release
WICHITA, KS - February 8, 2005 - BGM Sports Marketing, the radio and internet broadcast partner for Wichita State University athletics, has announced they are changing their internet streaming provider to Wichita-based Hubris Communications.
According to Bill Maness, President of BGM, the move was made to ensure that the quality and reliability of their broadcasts over the internet were entrusted to someone who would make it a priority. "Our internet broadcasts are an important piece of our overall agreement with WSU to provide the best broadcasting options. By upgrading our internet streaming through Hubris Communications, we hope to be able to deliver a quality internet audio stream to our fans, friends and family members throughout the world."
The new service will allow additional fans of WSU athletics to be able to hear the games online. With the phenomenal success of the WSU men's basketball team this year, the internet streaming is an important way to reach an increasing fan base, especially alumni and other fans outside the Wichita area.
According to Chris Owen, President of Hubris Communications, the move to a local provider will mean increased quality and responsiveness to BMG's needs. "As internet access becomes more and more of a commodity, businesses are increasingly finding that large out of state companies don't always provide the level of customer service that customer's may have become used to with a local provider. We're happy BMG chose to bring their business home and we know WSU fans have been happy with the increased quality of the streaming."
Streams of WSU games can be found online at www.shockerradio.com.
In addition to men's basketball, the site also broadcast's baseball, volleyball and women's basketball.
