Hubris Communications of Garden City has been selected to design and host the official internet presence of the Council on Foreign Relations, one of the nations oldest and most influential foreign policy organizations. The site is now complete and was opened to the public May 16, 1997.

Based in New York, the Council on Foreign Relations is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization with offices in Washington D.C. and members through the United States. The Council is dedicated to improving understanding of American foreign policy and international affairs and fostering a new generation of foreign policy leadership for the United States. The Council also publishes Foreign Affairs, the bimonthly journal of international politics and economics, with a circulation of 100,000.

Although the completion of this site marks a new collaboration between Hubris Communications and the Council, the relationship between the two organizations has actually been an ongoing one. For the past two years, Hubris Communications has also hosted the WWW site of Foreign Affairs Magazine, the major publication of the Council on Foreign Relations. The Foreign Affairs site has won several major awards, including a top 5% of the web award for the magazine sites, a category with considerable competition.

Chris Owen, owner of Hubris Communications, said he was particularly proud of the work they had done on the site. "Being selected to design and host the Councils presence is a real honor for us. It isn't often that a company of our size gets a shot at such a major client. Dealing with such a large organization sometimes made the creative process a difficult one, but after months of work the site is now complete and we couldn't be happier about the results."

The Council on Foreign Relations site can be found at www.foreignrelations.org. Foreign Affairs magazine can be found at www.foreignaffairs.org. For more information, contact Hubris Communications at hubris@gcnet.com, call 275-1900 or visit their WWW at www.hubris.net.
